Topic: 100M Mana spells Posted: 19 Jul 2013 at 15:48 |
I am curious how one gets 100M mana points.
My best estimate of max mana per hour is 2471, or possibly 2952 with a booster.
100,000,000 divided by 2952 is 33,724 hours. 33,724 hours is 1405 days. 1405 days is 3.8 years of mana collection.
Unless there is some other way of generating mana than max Mage Tower and an increase Mana production by 20%.

I make it an average max of 2482 p/h Lev 20 Mage Tower = 2026 Pres Boost = 20% Average Moon Bonus = 2.5%
So, about 4.5 years to get 100M (assuming no spells cast, and no Geo retreat or Rune grounding).
Unlike research, mana can't be 'crystalised' into books (or the mana equivalent) - so you can't buy any extra in. Maybe that's a good idea for an enhancement.....?

I think 100M factors in the per-level multiplier, so you're looking at a rate 0.05 times the below estimates.

Ah, you are correct. There is the 20x from the level of the Mage Tower. ty.
So 5M additional mana, not 100M. Still amusing, but not wtf!?! confusing.

all this mana and there isnt really any use for it?????u would think we would at least have to recast or that there is a fading effect....but who knows, many have one billion gold, why not one billion mana?

Well, it does make for annoying Blights if you are a relatively new player and don't have lots of Mana. Can't identify caster, can't dispel it.
Feels a lot like griefing when you get a blight with no idea where it came from, no interactions with anyone, etc. Was just quietly building away, and now it looks like I get to suffer a perma-blight. It isn't really hurting, but it feels like griefing.

Cold, have someone cast a blight on you with extra mana, and then cancel it. That will disrupt the current spell. If it's too powerful, then try Identify Caster. Also, please post the type of blight, as ranges are limited and that makes your magic score go way up.

Depending on what kind of blight it is (basically anything other than food), it can be a good thing. Someone would have to spend a LOT of mana to overcome it to cast a blight that you would like even less (some of the instant blights spring to mind). Also when you Tenaril or Exodus your city, the blight will go away automatically.
Again, depends on your plans for the city, but I would ask around about the possible benefits before just assuming this is completely negative.
I am NOT advocating blighting newbs (or anyone) without their consent, just saying there can be advantages.

well AS we found on in the war all that mana is great for putting spells on people and then they need to break the spells... There were times i was giving 15 million boost to a flipping food spell to break a spell on people. so yes the mana can be needed in times of war...
