I would imagine so. It might also be an easier way (depending on underlying infrastructure) to identify accounts that are being sat but never directly accessed.
At any rate, it's a good bargain for players.

Ooh, Brids you cynic Seriously though... it's a way of rewarding active players, bumping up new player "things to do", and allowing players to keep an active prestige account without having to pay. If players are then more likely to stay in the game then there is, indeed, a greater chance of them wanting to support it financially in some way - but there's no pressure to do so. The long and short of it is that inactive players definitely don't buy prestige, but active players might - and if they don't we still love them anyway because it makes the gameworld more active for everyone. The daily bonus. Yes this is another spot on development for all sorts of reasons. New players wil benefit from this over period of time making regular "log ins" . It will also enable them to be more independent of the veteran players who mostly, for well meaning reasons, encourage a depenedency on welcome wagons and free res handouts. Even with 1 prestige point per per day/ per log in. It is an incredibly generous gift. Cheers

We think players starting out in the game might prefer the resources, given that they have the 25 free prestige to start with - but not much to spend it on. SC
