Production summary
settlers are not listed

(this may be intended or same as v1, but they are a production item)

[EDIT by SC: Units don't currently appear on the Production Summary, only items produced.

Production Summary should probably be expanded to include Units?]

USER INTERFACE VERSION 2 (UIv2) Feedback

MUST READ

  1. UIv2 is INCOMPLETE 
    There are things that are disconnected and/or won't work, and if you choose to use UIv2 then you must expect this.  Things that don't work should however either work entirely properly or not work at all.
  2. Please raise bugs and issues with functionality in the Testing thread
    The testing thread is here 
  3. Please do NOT discuss specific UIv2 issues and features in Global Chat
    Global Chat is shared between both UIs, and discussing UIv2 in Global Chat will simply serve to confuse players who aren't testing UIv2.
  4. Please do NOT use this forum for suggesting new game features
    Please do that in the Suggestions & Game Enhancements thread This includes items such as block/unblock, private chat, new magic schools etc. This exercise is all about getting feedback; what you think, what could be tweaked, what could me made more clear, what could be easier etc., not coming up with new things.
  5. Be aware we concentrating on fixing and releasing UIv2 
    Our priority is releasing UIv2 and the new game engine it sits on; which will allow us to more responsive and adaptable in the future; each change we add to the list will set back that release - so a lot of things will be done after that first release. However; there will be some things it will be better to get done earlier - and we will seek to put those into the release.
  6. What we are looking for  
    Tweaks, minor enhancements to UIv2 and things you don't think "flow"well; but aren't really bugs.  e.g. cluttering of city names on world map; click on own town popup has some illogical options etc. Praise is also accepted Tongue
  7. Be constructive   
    Don't say "this is rubbish"; tell us why and how you think it could be better.

1. Add a sub-button to the top world map icon to go to the Centre on Your Town (same as the center of the compass rose on the World map page

2. Spend Prestige page -> Option to get new quests can be confusion with current wording of 'Invite new guests to your tavern'

3. Spend Prestige page -> Town & Production bonus ->column headers 'Cost' and 'Runs Until' are swapped

4. Top sub -button 'Account Management' goes to page 'Account and Preferences'

5. Account and Preferences page on web page title (Firefox) displays as 'Account & Preferences'

6. Top main button 'Magic/Spirituality Overview' goes to page 'Magic Overview'

7. Top main button 'Prestige Overview' goes to page 'Spend Prestige'

8. Top main button 'Alliances/Factions' goes to page 'Alliance Overview' {factions is a sub button so this is probably correct} {Adding Overview to the main button label may be more consistent}

9. Top main button 'Your Overview' goes to page 'Your Profile' {overview may be more consistent on the main buttons}

10. Add Active spell summary to Magic overview page

I would love to be able to see what building my town is working on, and the same goes for research. Not just a timer.

Also, the old research list found through library would be lovely to get back.

"select all" button with the mails would be nice also.

Only two things that are really bugging me at the moment:

Bring back the ability to see which two buildings/researches are being worked on at a glance rather than having to look into it further.

Bring back the ability to see units and armies stationed in your town at a glance rather than having to look into it further.

Other than that it is a pretty awesome UI ^^ (once it's working :P)

I would like to see Barracks Unit Prodution screen directly from Axe icon instead of having to go into the Town map and select Barracks, then Production.  Just put one of those pop-up side icons attached to the Axe to take me straight to Unit Produciton screen.
 
Same with Consulate, attach a link directly to Red Rose icon that takes me directly to Consulate Unit Production screen.

[EDIT by TC: Every unit icon when clicked on now offers you a link to the various production pages]
 
I would like to see a city's complete build queue and research queue from the city main screen as in old UI.
 
I would like to see Armies and Units in City on main screen as in old UI.
 
I would like to be able to close the Notifications window.
 
Too many notitifications.  Example: When I cast a spell, I receive 2 notices.  1 tells me I cast a spell from City X (I know what I just did.).  The 2nd notice tells me that my Spell was Successfully cast on City Y.

[EDIT by SC: This specific issue (double reporting of a spell cast) should now be resolved, as has sending resources to one of your own cities, but please supply any other examples on a case-by-case basis.]

System mail advising of goods deliveries should state sending city AND receiving city.

[EDIT by TC: System mails will be depreciated when we have the full notifications linkup - e.g. Notifications will link to page with full event details; mails will be reserved for player communications]

Both a system mail and a notification for the same event is redundant.

[EDIT by SC: As TC mentioned in his last comment, the notifications system is running in parallel with mail at the moment because the notifications (and especially the historical view) systems are not yet complete.  In the fullness of time the mail system will be switched off for reporting eg combats, trade arrivals, diplo events etc.]
