I am sure I am not the only one that has attempted to upgrade a building, and discover I accidentaly upgraded a different building. Some say I could simply wait for the building to finish, but I would have lost precious resources, and in later levels it will be a very long wait.
So I am proposing a "Undo" button for buildings in production. Military and diplomatic units have a two minute recall, so why can't there be a two minute building undo?
Anyways there is my suggestion^

Hi Kurfist,
Thanks for your thoughts on this.
This has been raised before, and our objection is that - unless we introduced some sort of fairly substantial penalty (such as "you only get 2/3rd of your resources back if you cancel") - we have concerns that people could use this as a way of escaping pillaging armies and/or thieves. ie: 1. Wait until thieves/attacking units are < 2 minutes away 2. Hit "upgrade" on your most expensive building 3. Laugh uncontrollably as the thieves/attackers steal nothing 4. Cancel upgrade and return resources to your storehouse 5. Profit!
If we did introduce a penalty then I suspect a lot of people would be even *more* annoyed at the game system than they might be by the absence of the upgrade cancel button...
Regards,
SC

I think we should do this and take nothing off the build ;) No but really I get where your coming from and truly a agree but I think 2/3 is a little to much. James

Another option is to "burn" resource while building, you can stop building and restart when you want. Example: -start building a blacksmith -stop at 50% -start building saddlemaker -stop at 30% -restart building blacksmith from 50% -ecc
you spend a fraction of the resources every "tick" or percentage builded.

We do have the demolish option. I don't see where stopping a building would help. We need to be sure before we build.

I don't understand which build would warrant a cancel.

There's actually a solution to this. Say you get 2 minutes to undo a building you've put into queue, simply make it so that the resources in your storehouse does not leave your storehouse until the 2 minutes is up. To avoid confusion about how much resources you actually have, make a cosmetic change in which is shows the resources being gone but don't actually take them. Then once the 2 minutes are up and you can't undo the building, have it actually take them.

I'd say having no undo button is best... it's not like you weren't going to build it eventually anyway... just double check before you click i guess?

I 2nd the need for an UNDO UPGRADE, I like the idea of a 'RETRACT UPGRADE', much the same as RECALL FOR {X} SECONDS you can for scouts. With a caveat, if an attacking force is closer than the RETRACT TIMER, then NO retraction is available. Example: (assuming RETRACT BUILD = 120 seconds) Attack is > 120 seconds out RETRACT BUILD = AVAILABLE Attack is < 120 seconds out RETRACT BUILD = NOT AVAILABLE
