Alliance Tournament
Type: Capture the Flag / Treasure Hunt (Rewards go to Alliance as a whole)
Alliances would be put into Leagues of similar sized Alliances (by total pop being preferable to number of members)
All Alliances in the same League would receive map to the first target....simply capturing and holding the target or harvesting target with Cotters or by scouting should give access to second map to next target.
Each map fragment may be claimed by only one Alliance at a time. On capture of a map the target for next map are relayed to all members of the Alliance. The map is transferred by Scouts / Cotters to the city of the player who gathered the map.
All other Alliances in the same League will be informed of the progress of the map to the capturers city.
Other Alliances can re-capture the map section by blockade, thievery or by seizing the city. Reinforcing a city that the map fragment is kept at would be beneficial.
All fragments will need to be sent to the Alliance capital for completion of the tournament goal. This could be the creation of a shrine / temple or other building that will benefit the whole Alliance with a 1-3% bonus to basic resource production to each and every member of the Alliance.
Caveat:
All Alliances placed in the same League will receive the same map.
All map sections not used (for building the shrine / Temple) can be stolen.
If a piece is found and moved to a capital - any other Alliances in the league will be informed where the piece is now or is heading to.
As long as your capital is under siege the building of Shrine / Temple is delayed.
How many different "treasure maps" there will be is up to the devs but it should be enough to give smaller alliances a chance too.
