Opinions on the new avatars? I think they look laughable.

I don't have many positive thought contributions to milking the money cow cosmetic updates.

Personally, I have absolutely no problem with the art department portion of the DEVs spending their time making customizable avatars that give absolutely no edge in game play, yet provide players with additional means to support the game they enjoy.

I like this new addition. However, smaller prices (for smaller alterations) would be nice. e.g. you only want to change the hair color but nothing else = 10 or 20 pres. Background is good at 50 cause its awesome! Sex change (just like real life) will end up costing you - and possibly scar you for life.... but to each his/her own.

yes, that.
I also appreciate this element that comes into play re. prestige: "One of our core values with Illyriad is not to add Prestige spend options that give a significant advantage to gameplay."
I think the new avatars are great!

I find the new avatars to be scary. If you go to the female elf and change the body, she looks like an old, angry, lady. Maybe making the avatars a little more cute... or in the case of the males, more handsome. Yea, The first time I started messing with the avatar editer thing, I got so scared that I started to scream (my mom came running in wondering what was wrong). So I have to give this new update a thumbs down. The idea was great, but the avatars need to be redone.

I don't think the Devs have seen this reaction before... Nor have I :P
Then again, I think the Dorf avatars were nicely done.

I was hoping for more options. Different hairstyles entirely, not just different colours. And also different objects to hold in our hands. Swords, shields, scrolls, scales, tools, gems, wands, trinkets, spyglasses... something that can differentiate a warrior from a crafter from a diplomate etc.
