Is there a way to set pictures to in front of and behind text? If there isn't is this something that the GMs will update?

There actually is. Look at my profile. I set the picture in front of the default orcette picture, you can make part of the picture transparent so the text would be visible behind it, you could even stack one picture on top of the other...

IIRC, for pictures floating left or right select the "align left" or "right" option. The space to the left of the male dwarf default picture allows a width up to 59%. With width 60% or more you'd end up below this picture.
