Side: Kildarran Regicide

"Year after year the ruler gets more and more power and grows more and more distant from his people, from his land.
But it is not natural that the ruler should have so much power that they grow apart from their people, and apart from their land.
People say that we, the Druids, poison the King, but we do no such thing. We simply assist in his death as friends. Any King who is truly one with the land will die, quite naturally, when the land dies.
Here in Kildarran, our King never dreams his own dreams. Instead, he shares the dreams of his people, drawn from across the land.
And we, the Druids, we know this, because we too walk in this dream, and we meet him there, just as we meet the Fey, the ancestors, the spirits of the animals...
... the evening grows late, and in this land we all rise with the dawn, so you had better get some sleep.
And when you sleep, be mindful of your dreams, and keep watch for who you might meet.. ."


King Sigurd visibly paled as he read these lines from Kaylor Brunerl's diary. The thin papyrus fell from his trembling hands...

A few days later the Order of Allembine was ordered to "clarify several distant details in the family tree of our beloved King Sigurd".

A Major Scribe of Allembine, half drunk, was heard mumbling over his foaming beer, at one of Araman's most popular and crowded taverns: "...well, King Sig doesn't really want to find his grandfathers...what he needs to find out is if any Kildarran blood runs through his veins...you see he dreams a lot lately....he dreams of old priests with long white hair...he dreams of....druids".

If King Sigurd is preoccupied with making his citadel druid-proof then he'll probably be too busy to interfere while I steal Aneirin's beer and women and raze his villages.
