CURRENT DEV LIST
As promised... (though I'm sure we'll regret it later )
Please make sure you understand 5 things:
- Just because things appear on this list does not mean there is any guarantee that they will actually make it into the game
- This is not in an "absolute" priority order, just a general guide to priorities
- This is the "public" list. There is also a "private" list that has many more items on it, but they're not necessarily items we're willing to share publically. It doesn't help anyone to have an item made public that reads "Close the massive, gaping exploit loophole whereby if players sacrifice military units to the Volcano at 0|0 they get unlimited resources forever".
- This list is subject to change, addition, amendment, deletion, expansion, being truncated, being flushed down the toilet, being set fire to and stamped on, being blasted into the heart of the sun attached to an ICBM, and practically anything else that might take our whim at a particular moment.
- This list does not include many of the day-to-day tasks we do, such as bugfixes etc. It's very "top line".

NPC COMBAT SQUARES
So you can swing your swords and lvl up your commanders / get attack score by practicing on bandits / wild animals etc PLAYER GENERATED QUESTS / MERCENARY CONTRACTS- Yes. We are, really, really, really considering allowing players to set
up their own quests, with specific objectives. For example, Player X
might set up a quest to "Attack Player Y", with a reward of Z gold for
each unit killed, or "Sabotage Player Y's Research Queue". Think of it
slightly like a "Mercenary" contract system with some "game-enforced"
payment mechanism.
ALLIANCE FORUMS
So you can all argue with each other ingame as well as out- Enchancements
ALLIANCE RANKINGS- Like Player Rankings, but... well... different
REMOTE WITHDRAWAL OF ALLIANCE FUNDS- As it stands, the only person who can withdraw funds from the Alliance Coffers is the current owner of the Alliance Capital City. This will change (you'll still need the "Withdraw" funds permission though)
NPC MERCENARIES, HIRABLE BY PLAYERS
- Oh yes. Yes indeed. They'll be expensive, and not as good as player-built units / armies.
GUIDES - alliances, spells, sieging etc
FANSITE INFO PACKS AND AGREEMENTS
Licensing out Illyriad content and IP, plus making it clear what they can and can't do, for people who want to set up third party fansites / wikis etc NAMING LAND AROUND YOU / SPHERES OF INFLUENCEDIPLOMATIC ENVOYS- These Top Level Diplomatic units are serious. Very serious.
PLAYER SELECTABLE TIMEZONE (and display)MORE DATADUMPSMORE SEXY REPORTS & GRAPHS - Trade Balance, Trade Partners, Aggresiveness, "use of strategems" pie charts etc etc for each Summary Report
COMBAT SIMULATOR- To see what will probably happen if you do what you're about to do. Will probably be an "active prestige account only" option.
"SEND AGAIN" BUTTONS ON REPORTS, "DO TWICE" OPTION ON ORDERS
- To make repetitive actions slightly easier, but not entirely automated
PLAYER "HOLIDAYS"
- So you can go away for 2 weeks somewhere without internet access, and still have a city when you come back
ACCOUNT SITTERS
So someone else can screw up your city on your behalf REDO CITY MAP GRAPHICS
- This is a biggie - we want cities looking different for each race, and we want buildings to "grow" as you level them up. It's a lot of work.
"HAND CRAFTED" WORLD MAP SECTIONS- Probably not for this server (UK1), as it's hard to change a World Map once the server is launched but we do want our maps to have 'named' Misty Mountains, Mirkwoods, even Seas and Oceans etc. These parts of the map would be strategically significant and so would be fought over.
MORE UNIT TYPES
- Winged Units. Animal Units. Magical Units. All the above. And more.
STRATEGICALLY IMPORTANT WORLD MAP LOCATIONS
- Sort of as above, but we could actually do some of this with the current map, without many changes. Examples would be parts of the map that give (eg) a bonus of extra food (or whatever) to everyone within a certain radius of a square.
MORE TERRAIN RESOURCE VARIATION- eg. 9 Wood, 3 Clay, 3 Iron, 3 Stone, 5 Food etc
RACE-SPECIFIC BUILDINGS- More variety - nothing finalised, but new buildings that are race specific might include (eg) a second tier Mage Academy for Elves, a second tier Consulate for Humans, a second tier Barracks for Orcs and a second tier Siege workshop for Dwarves.
MORE RACES- 4 isn't enough. Oh no. We thrive on complexity, and there's nothing that pleases us more than unleashing variables that spiral out of our control, only to be nerfed into oblivion at a later date, causing the ingame GMs to suffer, suffer, suffer as the Petition Queues stack up to unimaginable sizes with angry player rants.
RELIGION / PRIESTS / DEITIES- Yes. Really. And they'd do, like 'things', and, like, everything. It'll be cool.
CRAFTING
- A full set of professions for crafting items for equipping on commanders, using base resources & items, NPC item drops and magic.
DIFFERENT LANGUAGE VERSIONS- Oh God. Please No. Haven't we suffered enough without having to try and rewrite all of this in German?

I like the list, especially:
ENVIRONMENT ICONS CLICK - bonuses listed, plus "next phase" details - Frankly this is just a pretty icon right now. I suspect it will play into strategy at some point but it isn't clear to me what happens when things change.
DELETE UNITS, RETIRE COMMANDERS, GET RID OF ARMIES / DIVISION - This would be a potentially nice way to re-align yourself if you get upside down on gold without having to muck around with your tax rate.
ALLIANCE HOPPING COOLDOWN - Way too much opportunity to game the system without this... I think this one is critical.
MORE MAP ZOOM LEVELS - The current map is pretty but it is hard to do proper visualization. I think this would be great, even if it involves Prestige.
TAXATION RATE CHANGE FORECAST - A must have... especially for us Americans who are bad at math ;)

| For Mail Enhancements, the ability to delete a message I am reading would be most welcome.
Thinking of NPC Combat Squares, is Illyriad missing active NPC enemies? Like Bandit Camps that spring up and begin raiding your villages or disrupting your caravans. Ruined towers that become active Mage Towers that demand tribute to not cast harmful spells until destroyed. Abandoned mines that spew forth creatures that attack/consume specific resources either in town or on the map.

Improvement to one-off nasty spell reports. When you send a spell against a player, say - Plague of Locusts, it would be nice for the person who cast the spell to know how much damage was done on the victim. Currently the report only tells you that you were successful.

About the different races,would it be just varieties of the four already?(I.E. Northmen,nightelves,gnomes,goblins etc.) or a completely unrelated new race?

Oh great and wonderful mods - here are some of my humble suggestions to improve basic gameplay.
Screen navigation: I'd like to remain on the same screen when I change cities. if I'm on the quests screen (as an example) in City 1 and I select City 2 I'd like to remain on the quests screen rather than being directed to the map each time and having to re-navigate to the quests screen (which is 3 extra clicks, I think).
Quests: the Dispatch Goods button helps, but why not also add an Accept and Dispatch button to compliment the Accept button? Also it would be nice to have the system return you to the quests screen after dispatching goods/units rather than the diplomat/caravan movement screens.
Harvesting: When harvesting a resource on the map I currently have to click the resource, click on "Gather these resources" and then click on "Harvest Resources" button on the Marketplace Move screen to send the default of 1 caravan. I am then directed to the Trade Summary screen. I then have to click on the Map button to return to the Map so I can continue sending out my caravans. I'd like to see an option added to the menu after clicking a resource - "Gather resources (1 caravan)" which will automatically dispatch 1 caravan without removing you from the map (and will save a bunch of clicking!). Another thing - I sometimes send caravans twice to the same location (click the button, some lag, think I didn't click it - whatever - so click it again) - it would be nice to have the same cancel button for caravans that the armies have, or to have a logic check so that you don't send a single caravan within a few seconds of sending another single caravan to the same location.
Trade Summary - it would be great to see some more information on resources on the summary screen. It's hard to keep track of the emails that come in, especially with a few cities and many caravans. Under the harvesting section it would be nice to see the total # of resources being harvested (eg. total resources: 999 or harvested 999 of 999). On "Your inbound trade movements" it would be nice to see how many resources were left at the time your caravan left (eg. 999 resources left at site). On the "Your caravans are returning" email it would also be nice to see how many resources were left.
Marketplace Available Trade Offers - when you apply a filter to search for a trade the filter will be removed after you accept a trade. It should remain until I remove it or leave the screen.
That's enough for now - if I think of other's I'll post later.
