Anyone else getting this?

elgea.illyriad.co.uk uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate expired on Thursday, November 10, 2016 8:34 AM. The current time is Thursday, November 10, 2016 9:00 AM.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Yes its all browsers that I tried.  Opera will however let you choose to go into it anyway, but you will have no GC or AC.

I'm also getting the "Insecure connection" error page, so yeah looks like the SSL certificate has indeed expired Dead

same here..getting that..failed certificate notice..your connection is unsafe. I have the choice of dropping chrome's firewall or not. However, this does sound like a site issue.

Hmmm..I wonder if this has something to do with Trump being elected, didn't they pass a resolution in Parliament restricting Trump from entering the country due to his attitude towards Muslims?

Does this mean we'll have to have an Illy America?

No same problem in Canada. That's a hilarious conspiracy theory though.

If we need the post of anyone else having this problem, I have it too :( Just used Chrome and then went here before trying other browsers, as he error sounded like not-my-fault-for-once

I would have thought that they would have had an auto-renew set on the certificates. I don't know how GlobalSign work but LetsEncrypt (the ones I use) will try to renew up to 30 days before the expiry date giving time to sort any problems before they become an issue.

On the bright side I suppose there might be an increase in the number of forum posts with both GC and AC being down Big smile

[16:22]<Esso> ... to circumvent the glitch ( presuming an expired cert is the only culprit ) ...
[16:23]<Esso> ... open a new tab , open these urls & override / accept the expired cert & continue "unsafe browsing" ...

Based on my own experience it takes seconds to request a certificate renewal if everything is the same as when the certificate was originally issued - slightly longer (an extra 5 secs?) if things have changed so it does depend on when one of the tech team gets notified.

I am able to log on to Illy just fine.  For those who are having security certificate problems, try clearing your cache and refreshing your browser.  This may not help, but it might if your cache has outdated security certificate info.

Global chat and alliance chat are also working for me.  Using Google Chrome on a Chromebook, from California.

See GM SC's comments on the issue and solution in this thread  http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/unable-to-log-in-to_topic6991_page2.html" rel="nofollow - http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/unable-to-log-in-to_topic6991_page2.html

Clear your cache and refresh your browser as a start, then try to relog.

For those on Chrome who can't get to the forum (and yes, I understand that posting this workaround in the forum isn't directly helpful to those who can't read it - but maybe you could pass this on to anyone in trouble!)

1. Open Chrome
2. In the address bar, type "chrome://net-internals/#hsts".
3. Type illyriad.co.uk in the text field below "Delete domain".
4. Click the "Delete" button.

This should work.  We're still searching for a better fix to this that doesn't involve a workaround.  Again, many apologies.

Best wishes,

SC
