Alright, we need some information first.

1) Which browser are you using? Can you use a different one?

2) Which OS are you using?

3) What happens after you see this... do you just go away or do you go ahead?

More more mooorrree! :)

Thanks,

GMR

I  heard that Illyriad now runs from a Chinese server and they are harvesting IP address for future hacking, malware insertion to steal your identity and take all your bank deposits.

Where did I hear that? Nowhere. i just make it all up to sound interesting, important or like I know something but really I know nothing at all. It's just a cheap disguise I wear to hide my insecurities and the fact that I need to feel liked by other people as a measure of my own self worth.

GlobalSign accidentally revoked one of their root signing certificates

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/13/globalsigned_off/" rel="nofollow - http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/10/13/globalsigned_off/

GlobalSign claims the worldwide mass revocation is an "unexpected consequence" of internal changes it made, and that browsers and other software "incorrectly inferred" that certificates had been burned.

In one respect I'm glad to see that even an organisation like GlobalSign make mistakes but it also concerns me when you consider the number of sites that rely on them.

From Globalsign and also  http://www.zdnet.com/article/globalsign-security-certificate-foul-up-knocks-out-secure-websites/" rel="nofollow - http://www.zdnet.com/article/globalsign-security-certificate-foul-up-knocks-out-secure-websites/

Try the following

Windows users need to take the following steps:

Go to Start Menu > Run Type cmd and press Enter

Then enter the following command:

certutil -urlcache * delete

On a Mac, you need to open a terminal and enter the following command:

sudo rm /var/db/crls/*cache.db

This will delete the following files:

  • var/db/crls/crlcache.db
  • /var/db/crls/ocspcache.db

Finally, on a Linux desktop, you open a shell program and run this command:

dirmngr --flush

Hi Everyone
This fix is hard if you have Windows 10. The trick is to right click the Windows icon instead of left click when looking for Start menu. Right click will get you right there. Once you have pasted the link then you get out of CMD and reboot. The problem is then fixed.

Hi everyone,

Apologies for this momentary SSL certificate outage.

Essentially, our secure certificate for running Illy over secure (encrypted) connections expired.  It's meant to auto-renew, but it didn't - and we're looking into why.

Everything is back up and running as it should be; although we're aware that some users of Chrome are still having difficulty accessing the forums (by being redirected to SSL https://) and we're looking into getting that resolved as swiftly as possible.

Please rest entirely assured that this wasn't a 'hack' and that your account and data was entirely safe during the outage (we actually ran Illy on standard non-SSL http for the first 4 or 5 years anyway).

tldr; Our annual secure certificate expired today, but has now been renewed.  It was meant to auto-renew, but didn't - and we're trying to find out why from the registrar.  We're good now, and nothing was lost/compromised/hacked.

Still: many, many apologies for the temporary outage.

Best,

SC
