As the name suggests, this is a resurrection of Illytools. Lately thieving is happening a lot and I wanted to use the function Redbirds again. I ended up restoring some of Illytools features with some of the code that I still had lying around. Eventually I will make the tool in such a way that it does not fully depend on my server, this to avoid the same situation as Illytools.

Current resurrected features:
- Redbirds
- Sweetspots
- Notepad

Added feature:
- Old smilies (possible to disable)

Feel free to give it a try, I only tested it in Chrome using Tampermonkey to load the plugin.

Suggestions are welcome, I am currently thinking of resurrecting the city/military overview next.

Regards, Bimble.

Sweet.

Who will recieve the recordded data?

If you ressurect the Total Troops in Town + Total Adv. Resources in town, etc. where will that data be stored and who will have access to it?

Just making sure you aren't creating some kind of "Buy information from me" shop =)

No worries, all the data is saved locally.
I have no idea where to find it with other browsers, but with Chrome you can find it under;
Developer Tools -> Resources -> Local Storage -> http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk

For example, the notes of the notepad can be seen there.

Well, if the data is going to be accessible and seen by someone who plays illyriad, i probably won't be using it :)) and I suggest smart people dont update their data into it.

I'm not sending player data to my server, though a feature that gets all of Captain Kindly his data and makes it public is quite interesting Tongue

Update
Added the empire overview, which includes the total Military/Dipolo/B.Resources/Adv.Resources.
The data is only stored in the memory, a refresh of the page and you'll have to go by each page to summarize the data again. I might change this to save the data in the browser local storage, as mentioned before.

The city names are not displayed properly yet, will fix that at a later time.

No idea on what to add next, suggestions are welcome! (btw, what did that crystal ball do?)

Local storage is just that - it is local to your machine. If you then log in from another machine the information is not on there so you don't see it. The only people who can access that info are people with access to your device.

If your going to play on a public computer (library etc) I suggest getting a USB stick and installing your favourite browser on it.

Thank you so much for what I know took both time and skills. Is there any chance that you have more human readable code? Myself and many others would love to contribute(for example http://https://github.com/Illyriad-Community/illytoolz" rel="nofollow - http://https://github.com/Illyriad-Community/illytoolz ).

Here is a snippet of JS that can extract info from the Town Drop Down List in case it helps.

$(".cityMenu").each(function(){ console.log($(this));});

Thank you so much for this! Its wonderful!

Two suggestions to make it even more wonderful:

1. distance calculator--e.g. stick in two sets of coordinates and get the distance. I know this is simple but it was a handy feature to have so close at hand in the original.

2. The empire overview seems to have a maximum width.. which is not wide enough to show all my towns. At least when there are big numbers or lots of towns. I don't know if this would be easy or hard to fix, but I thought I would mention it.

Bimble,
I am still fairly new to Illy and have only heard of Illytools in hushed tones in back rooms.  Is there a way to publish a user guide for new players.

Also as a suggestion, perhaps a battle calculators that could take into account troops in a town and an imported scout report with a few user variable like terrain. I am not sure if it is possible or not, but I'd throw it out there.

Best,
Lord Stanley

Thanks everyone for the mails and feedback, based on this I made the following list. (I hope I didn't overlook anything)

TODO list based on the feedback:
- Fix city names
- Fix the overview for larger amount of towns (scroll-able probably)
- Distance calculator
- SOV buttons
- Quest info (Allembine/Temple of Reasons/Beer/?)
- Race/unit costs page

Possible extra features:
- Battle calculator
(not sure if the info of the calculations is available, but if it is I could implement this)
- GC chat log
(Requested by some. I want the plugin to be independent from a server, so my idea is to allow people to log it themselves, as in, put in an URL to a server and the chat will be sent there. This way the code is still independent of a server. A viewer could be added too)
- Battle report
(Same idea as above, this way an alliance could have a server and process the data themselves)
- Help button (or something) on each page with explanation of the features.
- Change editor
(Switch the current mail/profile editor to a different one)

I will think about making it all open, though this might cause a lot of spin-offs based on the code, which would cause a lot of plugins.

Regards, Bimble

Thanks for your work Bimble.
I am not sure if it can be done, but I have question about the distance calculator.
Could Illytools incorporate a function to be able to click on a sq and as you drag the cursor it would make a line that would be measuring the distance between the original spot and where the cursor was.
Best,
Lord Stanley.

Bimble,

Thanks... great work Thumbs Up

In the resource screens is it possible to include crafted items in each city inventory?
Also would be very useful if Trade hub inventory was possible.

Great to see this tool back ..... much appreciated

Found a bug when looking at Military Overview screen.
I was on my HumanResources account, and had finished scrolling through the towns to get full picture of my troops. I discovered it had used "Clan Guardsmen and Kobold Cohorts" instead of "Militiamen and Pikemen".

So just a visual bug I should think. Maybe need to change the @ codes around?

*EDIT*
I found out they were reinforcing troops .. Doh

The sub-domain that it was using (bimble.moo.com) is no longer active although the parent one is. I'm going to try and get in touch with them later and see if they have any idea who it was that ran it and try and get in touch.

The recent change to secure servers by the devs means that any inline tools like this and DurcTools have to be served up from a secure server as well. Since the change I've been working on getting one set up for DurcTools and can report that I've made some progress on this. Once I have it up again I'll look at offering hosting for Resurrectio as well if needed.

For me adding the s to HTTP is pretty easy just have to pay $25.00 USD One Time to get  AlphaSSL (i think i havent really looked at it yet)

Posted By: Tensmoor

With my current host it would cost me $31.99 a year which is not an option at the moment. I've been searching around for other options and have finally found a (semi) workable one. Now I need to pack up an entire domain and move it over to a new host. On the bright side it's a good opportunity to do some clearing out...

I'm going to be moving it to Dreamhosts who signed up to the free one from Let's Encrypt (a free, automated, and open certificate authority brought to you by the non-profit Internet Security Research Group (ISRG).

I've set up a test account with them and it seems to work Ok. I've also sent an email to the people that own the domain that Bimble was using - just waiting for a reply.

I'm hosting the tool on my own server, for now I've signed my own SSL certificate and updated the script for the reference to https, haven't checked the warnings yet.

People that use it will have to reinstall the updated script from  http://bimble.mooo.com/" rel="nofollow - http://bimble.mooo.com/ .

The DNS I'm using is a free one, no idea if they'll mail back ;).

Just installed opera and IllyTools:Resurrectio to try it out. Seems to be working ok. Can you be more specific about the problems your having?

Update: Don't know if it's a new thing or not but the Basic & Advanced tabs on the Empire tool doesn't show anything if you only have one town. The military does though.  The Basic & Advanced tabs update when you navigate to a new town, the military tabs update when you change to a different page.

It suddenly stopped working for me, for no apparent reason. Yesteday it worked, today it doesn't.
I use firefox, windows 10. Tampermonkey says IllyTools is active. Deactivating and reactivating Illytools and Tampermonkey didn't help. Restarting firefox didn't help. Shift-refreshing Illy didn't help. Is there something else I could try?

By the way, thank you very much for resurrecting IllyTools! :-)

Posted By: Tensmoor
Date Posted: 19 Nov 2016 at 16:00
Just tried it and it's not working for me either. The site is showing as up and there appears to be a valid SSH Cert for the site but checking the network log for Firefox it says the connection used to try and get the script is not secure. Trying to re-install the script doesn't install a script like it should. The userscript for IllyTools uses exactly the same method to load the script as I do for DurcTools so I'm a bit stuck on this one.

It looks like the server for it is down again at the moment. When it is working you should see a red button in the top right corner of your screen that says something like 'Illytools:Ressurectio' - just click it to open the tools up.

Depending on how desperate your need and what you want to do DurcTools might be able to help - have a look on my profile for all the details and links.
