Nice work Vanerian.

Can somebody tell me where I'm going wrong with the section at the top for pasting scout/battle reports etc.  

I've never managed to get this working (even on the old version), I simply get a pop up saying "WTF is this crap!"

Koda, you might want to double check your code.


With Level 16 Wall and 2000 T1 inf vs 3000 T1 cav and 500 T2 cav, attackers loose.


With Level 20 Wall and same troops, attackers win.
I checked that the same results occur with different terrain and troop types. Somehow the defenders loose strength with increased wall levels?

That was a bug in the original calculator. The factor for the level 19 and 20 walls is apparently 0%, instead of the correct values. I thought that had been fixed?

Have asked this before but gotta ask it again ....

Can anybody tell me how the top section "Paste stuff in here, like combat reports and scout reports" actually works ?

The 'Run All Tests' only ever gives me:
Tests run: 0
Tests good: 0
Tests fail: 0

And 'Process' always return a "WTF is this Crap" message!

If it actually works then a working example of what to paste in there would be great

If I recall correctly, you have to copy-paste the contents of the scouting report into the text box on the calculator.

 I have now added all the Tournaments troops to the illyriad battle calculator that is on my site. I have also  now added a Occupying Force army that has all the human/elf/dwarf/orc armies. I will also be working on adding all the Faction troops  all this week. If you guys see something wrong with the battle calculator please let me know in a IGM or make a post here

I have added Escaped Fire Elementals and added all the faction units they are at the bottom of the list. I have also fixed the Escaped Earth Elementals stats. If you know of any other problems please send me a IGM of what the problem is. If it misspelling it would be great if you also sent me a link or the NPC icons to what is misspelled and if its a Terrain mistake it would be great if you sent me the Terrain info (You dont have to do this but if you dont i will get it updated sooner)

Do what I do then. Send a big force and hope for the best. Except for towns, I haven't scouted in years. And I have never ever used a Battle Calc. Just send troops. Learn the hard way. They live or they die. If they die, upgrade you're commander and make more troops.   WinkTongueSmileLOL

That won't work for a new player who can't afford so many troops. The outdated calculators give me an idea of the forces I need, but it would be neat if we had a working one.

As Fiona said, I have never used the battle calculator as well. From day one of playing I was attacking things and never let the farmville players advice from GC affect the way I wanted to play. Just make troops and kill them off.

I sometimes use battle calculators, but usually I just see what general size NPC groups are (pack, horde, legion etc) and use that as a rough guide. (for those in my diplo visiblity range)

The battle calculators are not 100% accurate because the ones I've seen do not take into account crafted items. Also the extra commander specific bonuses are not included - 15% charge for T2 cav for example. But this just means that more troops survive than expected

The battle calculator I clicked does take into count commander specific bonuses also they can take into count items if you know what you are doing. in true all battle calculators are up to 99% accurate when it's just the raw numbers.

It is not currently working for me Kodabear.  Can put in all the info and it doesn't calculate.  Tried on Firefox, Edge and Chrome, same result on all three.

I have been trying the battle calculators - entering the information manually for each side and they work well. I think the problem many are reporting has to do with automating the input into the calculator. Is it a select, copy, paste from a source? The comments in the box seem to indicate that works, I've simply not found the proper information to copy and paste yet.

It would be great to register on the site and have it know armies from prior battles entered, then adjust number of troops and commander stats update. Then it would simply be paste in the terrain and defending army info - for example scraped text from a scouting run on the target. 

Perhaps we can output something entered manually - for example in CSV format - which can then be pasted in as input on a future calculation?

This input doesn't work:
