Hello!

You might have noticed that we have a lot of players who are connecting through the game with Microsoft accounts, Google accounts or other means. I thought it’s be a good idea to cover some of these logins, and to cover what to do in case you forget your password.

I’ll go over the Windows 8 app.

If you have recently discovered the game through the Windows 8 store, thanks! It’s a great app but we are still tweaking and finalizing some things. When you downloaded the app, you had to be signed into the Windows store. That Windows login is your Illyriad login, and the app will always automatically sign you in.

You cannot make an alt from inside the app. If you want to make another account (each player is allowed 2 accounts) then you can do so by using the browser. Just be aware that the account that you made through the browser cannot sign into the app if you already have an app account.

If you already have a browser-based account and want to try the app, you can either use your Windows sign-in and use the account connected to that OR you can “link” your current browser-based account to the app. When you do that, the app will log your browser-based account in at the startup of the app.

Now, let’s say you want to sign into the browser, using the same account that you use when you start the Windows 8 app.

Option One

1) In-game, go to your password page (Avatar Icon -> Account & Prefs -> Password)
2) Set a password
3) (Optional) You can also check or change your email on the email page which is important for Option Two

Option Two

1) Go to our forgotten password link, here: http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/Account/ForgottenPassword" rel="nofollow - http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/Account/ForgottenPassword
2) Put in the email that is connected to your Microsoft account... the Microsoft account that you had to use when you downloaded Illy from the app store.
3) When you get the "reset your password" link in that email, make a password. THAT PASSWORD will be the password you use when you sign into Illy in the browser.

For both options you can now sign in on the web:

When you go to the browser to sign into Illy, choose "Playername & Password" as your verification type and put your PLAYER NAME (the name that appears on your profile in-game) and THAT PASSWORD that you just made.

Enjoy playing Illy in the browser!

Be aware that if you do not make an alternate login for your Illy Microsoft account and somehow lose access to that MS account, we cannot help you. You can try to reset the password but you will need access to that MS account email in order to reset the password.

These steps basically work the same with logins from Google, Facebook, etc. If you use one of these alternate logins and have a concern or question, please let us know!

GM Rikoo, can you provide a step-by-step on how to "link" a web-browser account to the app?
