Hi All,
A few bugfixes today.
NPCs acting in a supporting role In the event of a player army arriving at a location where NPCs were gathered, the NPCs would choose not to fight and would actually support the blockading army in the defense of the square. This has now been rectified, and NPCs should now fight any and all arriving forces. Any NPCs currently supporting player armies have been moved along.
This was definitely not behaving as intended, but equally we're not describing it as an exploit - rather a highly creative use of a surprising and unintended NPC behaviour - that has now changed.
If anyone becomes aware of any new incidents of this nature, please open a petition.
Blockade party Blockading armies were not necessarily showing on the map (icon or pop-up) in cases where there were more than one army on the square with alternative orders. ie. in situations where there were two or more armies on a square, one with orders to blockade and one with orders to occupy, the occupying army's orders were displaying in preference to the blockading army's orders.
This has now been rectified, and both siege and blockade orders take display preference over occupying army orders. Players will continue to receive emails when blockades are set up, as before.
EDIT: A quick clarification on the "Blockades showing on map" issue.
Currently, if *you* have an army on the square, it will show you what *your* army's orders are even if there are other armies from other players performing sieges or blockades.
We felt that showing your own orders in preference to the overall orders was more useful.
However, if players would prefer to see the "overall" orders in preference to self "orders" first, please make your preference heard and we can easily change it.

AWOL Troops In very rare situations, troops could disappear from a town when being moved into or out of the unit pool, or when having commanders assigned or unassigned, due to an extremely rare database deadlock.
We believe this has now been rectified, but if you believe it has happened in the future, please let us know ASAP via a petition.
We also believe we have refunded the (very few) players effected by this, but if you have an outstanding petition on this issue and haven't heard from TC or myself in the last 24 hrs, please reopen or append a new message to the existing petition so that it floats back to the top of my queue.
We have taken a very methodical and careful approach to rectifying this issue, and have built an extremely detailed database log that can perfectly reconstruct armies to any single mouse-click moment in time; so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you believe this has happened to you and we can go and have a look.
We'll certainly need all the basic information such as: - The town
- The army name
- When you noticed the troops had disappeared
- When you last knew for certain that you had these troops
- An estimate of the type(s) and number of each troop that you believe was lost
- Anything else you think might help us find the lost sheeple

Amongst other things, we're still looking into a couple of recent incidents of empty combat report looping spam at the server end, where in some circumstances a couple of players have been sent more than 14,000 pretty much empty reports - which is certainly rather annoying!
If you want the spam cleared from your mailbox (rather than having to delete it yourself) please open a petition and we'll clear it out.
Thanks, everyone.
