Thank you to Pending [SOON] for an honest, hard fight over what should now be called the "Plains of Blood", aka Middle Kingdom.

Very enjoyable tournament, congratulation to all winners, an interesting and hard fought battle for second place between Soon & nCrow   Clap

Very pleased with the Æsir victory in Ursor, and second place in Tamarin.  A great response from the alliance in getting a large, coordinated force in place.  Many thanks to those who we fought for making it so enjoyable, Win or Lose (and Æsir did both)  it was all good fun!  Thumbs Up

...... Now where is my Tournament Sword for Ursor !

*Note, poisonous crawlers are in fact poisonous. As a result eating them will result in terrible, terrible bowel damage.

Dear Devs and Luna,

I would like to get some assurance that the prizes are dealt out based on the situation as of November 1. I'm waiting with my alt to do some sieging, and it means I will have to put him out of his alliance for a while.

Apart from that, I don't see why it's taking so long to do this. Is this a chore you guys are procrastinating on?

EDIT: I am not the only one who's holding back on sieging because of the unsureness of this situation.

agree
there are people that want to move from alinace but not shure if they can do so and keep the rewards

Posted By: jordigui
Date Posted: 10 Nov 2012 at 13:04

 I completely agree!!

And I come back to the idea, why are they given away swords as prizes if knights cannot have them? Everywhere knights have had swords. Is this delay because you are solving this issue?

It makes no sense, especially that knight commanders (the most noble troop) are not able to bring swords. Why would the Circle of Five give swords? just for swordsmen? Are the Circle of Five dwarves?

 Thanks,

 TH

also agree with that
either this would be a ultimate wapon that anyone could use or there would be swords, spears and bows

i already dislike that swords are way better than spears (just look at SSspear and SSsword)
but this is even worst...

Yes, please! There are many, many, possibly hundreds of players who would like to leave ther current alliances, but don't dare to do because of the unclear situation.

If you want/need to leave your alliance then do so. If it messes up the tournament prize awarding (I do not know if that will be the case) we'll fix it. You can file a petition if you don't get your prizes at the time they go out.

Awarding of prizes has been delayed because we have been dealing with some other, time sensitive, not-game-update-exciting but very critical issues behind the scenes including but not limited to:

http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/03nov2012-tweaks-and-clarity_topic4437.html
http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/connectivity-issues-broken-images-buttons-etc_topic4450.html
http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/06nov12-siege-exodus_topic4446.html

Hang in there please. We'll get the prizes as soon as is possible.

Oh, and no we aren't changing the sword. It is still going to be a sword.

No problem that the prize are swords, but then knights 8or commanders) will be able to bring a sword?
If you have doubts, please go to wikipedia and search for "knight". There are more images with swords than spears!

Yeah... I'm against exclusive ultimate weapons that everyone can use. I view it more as a ceremonial and decorative item that functions as a weapon.

Might have something to do with Knights having the highest attack in the game as well as the majority of players being humans. Balancing. Those percentages stack with Knights much better than with infantry or bowmen.

I'm convinced it should be a magical codpiece. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a single picture online of a knight without a codpiece, regardless of which weapon they are using... (or maybe I just have a good filter). ;)

Some statistics would be very much appreciated. Similar to the last tourney.
Perhaps those half naked guys are infantry and could be equipped with swords...

yea i agree with you. though i'm a orc and well... i use spearmans and it's unfair that not only i have the wekest troops but i also get the most crapy weapons...
as for the swords... well there might be someone interested in buying my swords... don't see any other use for them

You make a good point. All cavalries in the history of warfare used swords, either as a primary or, at least, as a secondary weapon, from antiquity until the early 1900s.
Perhaps a good compromise would be to allow cavalry to equip swords, but they only get 50% of its effect. Kind of like a negative elite malus.

Posted By: dspn23
Date Posted: 11 Nov 2012 at 14:51
i don't see much point on that...
why to use 50% of a sword when u can use 100% of the spear? i know spears are weaker than swords, but not that much... (in most cases...) SSspear and sword is a exception...

Congrats to all the winners!

Do we know when the rewards are coming?  I have players waiting to graduate to make sure they get their reward.  Is this necessary or can they graduate and still receive their reward?

Lady, from Luna's message, on the previous page, it seems that they can graduate with no problem. And if there was a problem, they would "solve" it.
Just, in case, I stay where I am ...

We're just sanity/double-checking things atm.

To clarify, I hope: Any player who was in a prize-winning alliance and who took part in combat on the prize-winning square whilst in that alliance will get whatever rewards are outstanding, regardless of which alliance they are in now.

I know though out history that cavalry used swords. of course they didn't battle elves, orcs or dwarves either. so get rid of them and let cavalry use swords.
oh wait...i am a drawrf..forget that

So finally the wait is over and we get to see the tourney prizes in our account.
Whats with the blue naked men's attack/defense stats..?? They totally suck!!
Was expecting them to be much much better than those "Praetorian Guardsmen" Cry
I demand the DEVs come up with new attack/defense stats for those naked men..!!

I'm happy with vanity troops. I don't like the idea of making the strongest players even stronger.
