Greetings dear Ladies and distinguished Gentleman.
i hereby call all alliances to collaboration and help, for there are things we all are interested to know.
the reason is quite simple actually, and i much want to hear what you all think about this.
this project may be ambitious, but would be of great help for everyone.
simply i call all alliances to share their planes for trade hubs.
goal would be to have more "active" trade hubs outside from the decadent hub of centrum.
if we would be to split the world map in a 3x3 square, we would have 9 "sectors".
i wish for the alliances all around to discuss and brainstorm in the quest to find and define the 9 hubs, in a way that suits the regional inhabitants of the region.
to define this is the next step we as community have to make in order to fully be able to profit from inter-alliance collaboration, and it would be also a great tool for the growing folks that want to go the trade way.

There's a problem with your suggestion:  No matter what other folks say, wrt taxes Grovinton is the best hub for me, it's also near to my old capital.  OTOH, if the South-East decides that Blackbriar is their best hub I couldn't use it with my standing below -35.  Apparently folks in the South go to Port Tal, while folks in the South-East stick to their various nearest hubs.  I think there will be more than 9 popular hubs.

indeed, but you can not deny the handiness of such a idea. i do not say to use only the "9" hubs, but to have 9 as "inter alliance platforms".
you have to admit, it would be pretty handy as a tool, to have such a global network.

I like this proposal, mainly because it provides a greater distribution of trade hubs across the maps and will further promote trade as part of game play in Illyriad.  I like the idea of making trade more accessable  to newcomers (or restarters like me lol) .

For me the two developments that "pin" alliances to the land and the map are "sovereignty" and "trade" and I hope that the community embraces  both these paths because  imo, in terms of gameplay,  They are best way forward through the sandbox that is "Illyriad".

I think though that this proposal is a trifle ambitious and yet it doesn't need the collaboration of all alliances to work so it is achievable.

Certainly it is an exciting development and it will take the beneifts of trading deals closer to a system that is run by the community for the community. There will be 9 hubs or so and so that will provide some diversity in terms of prices and availblilty...

....there are federations such as Consone and the Crow family which could make this proposal a feasable one.

Humayan in the South East is being used by Affirmative Action, as well as other prominent alliances in the Zanpur region.

I'd like to promote Kilotov's suggestion, as it occured to me frustrating to send traders around Elgea without seeing many blooming hubs.
Therefor I can only support the idea of actively shaping the market as we want it.
At the moment I personally run a project, to envive the "Zhuhai trade hub" as a local hub. It got lots of nice feedbacks from all over the allies and seems promising ...

To be read here:

As I considered the Pro's of a local eastern trade hub there extensively, I won't do it here again.
Hope lots of you join this project. See your traders and goods soon ....

StA and H? mostly, but it's turned into a more general Southern trade hub now. Illy geographics work in wonderful ways.

were you expecting another "centrum" ?   considering the first trader is "wine-free", it might take a while for the mass to expand to other hubs...

For the north-east (Laoshin, Tamarin, Qarosslan, even Ursor): How about Qi Quien? It has neutral faction standing for all races, and is probably the only faction hub in the north-east that isn't Orc or lizard people.

(Was also considering the Barracks...but the Barracks is on an island. For those people without access to the rivers/sea, that might pose some problems with access when/if pathfinding ever comes out.)

As I wrote in another thread, the factional standing is default at the moment, as it gets renewed. Therefor it isn't a parameter yet for a good or a bad hub. In the moment Faction standing gives marginal difference, so you actually have a tax rate of 3,43 % at Centrum and 4% in Zhuhai. In future Faction standing will get updated and hubs will get influencable by playerinteraction. At least this is, what was a goal once.
However, a parameter, that should not be overlooked is the position on the map. And that is, where Zhuhai scores against Qi Quien.

So let's try to get trade running at Zhuhai hub and to make it a blooming eastern Elgea market.
We started this market shaping project 3 days ago, and already have a wide spread variety of goods and a growing daily turnover.
Projects like this only work, if people are willing to take chances to make a few lesser margin as at Centrum yet, but with a rising presence of traders, orders and arising competition market occurence  outer Centrum trading will get more attractive.
Some allies are willing to discuss (or already doing) the support of this hub, so give allycrossing cooperation and active market shaping at Zhuhai a try ...

          Zhuhai ( 846 /229 )               ... a pilot project for strong regional markets

Urukonium in Kal Tirikan is another active hub.

I have traders at Nessim and Hohnsval, too.  They're only mildly active.

Port Tal has been mentioned, I can corroborate it has decent activity.

My roaming trader from Cake Harbour is fun, I got two barrels of wine in Kajadum, spent millions in Lantellyn, and picked up a few black panther furs in Jarru.   Admittedly many hubs were still disappointing.

Currently Shelton 428 -214 (in Lucerna on the border of Perigor) is starting to pick up a bit of trade. Not a big center but practical to those nearby. Come and visit :)

edited to correct a mistake in the state where its situated.
