If you happen to see a fortune teller, let the community know of her location in this thread.

Keep in mind: The Fortune Teller moves every 24 hours at 0:00 server time.

Although we have seen the message for each of the diplo's I theorize that certain mysteries are locked to a player until said player visits her with the correct diplo unit.  If you are interested in seeing the message for each diplo unit, it can be seen in the thread below.

Good idea tbh... I'm sure most of the community has not actually been able to visit the f.t first hand.

Oh, I see now (I think):
Gypsy Campsite is =      Fortune Teller is =

Does she usually spawn around the other campsites or around the map in general?

Correct :) I think they are both the same thing.
I have only seen her on plains.
The gypsy campsite will replace an NPC structure for 24 hours.

The one time I found her it was in an area with lots of gypsy camps around the southern border of the Middle Kingdom.  So if you stumble over a camp try to locate another in its neighbourhood, and then scan the map around these camps.  No guarantees, of course, and don't start late in the day (server time.)

Good hunting, if she hides on any mountain in the Misted Lands tomorrow my scouts will catch her. Wink

Can anyone confirm if they are the same thing?
I mean do you get the diplo fortune from a gypsy campsite?

The fotune teller says "Fortune Teller".  Diplo'ing a gypsy campsite will do nothing but maybe give you a report of whatever NPC happens to be on it. With the new game mechanics, we are hoping to actually see it moving from place to place now, so we can track it. Other than the color of the wagon and clothes, there is no difference, other than the name. Unless, we can see it move now.

What if people are seeing it move around the map but it looks like a caravan moving, since the fortune teller has two caravans as the image..?

We now know it doesn't move like a unit or NPC, across the map. At 00:05 it disappears, and reappears somewhere else on the map. It seems random, with no set path Angry

For those of you who werent aroudn a bit of interesting thigns GM Stormcrow said in gc :
18:12]<GM Stormcrow> @KT - Fortune tellers are still as accessible as they used to be, but that can only be visited once per day per player.

18:14]<GM Stormcrow> @DramaP - iirc there are actually 4 Fortune tellers out there at any one time. Though they act as a single entity (so if you visit one of them, the others won;t speak to you on the same day)

18:15]<GM Stormcrow> @Ghetto - Well, that's because that's a new thing as of a few days back

18:17]<GM Stormcrow> Well, the fortune tellers take over gypsy camps and move every day. But gyypsy camps are only in certain areas of the world. You can work out roughly which reginos by looking at the map (and reading the lore)
time to start hunting them down again :D

rom a master spy : Your diplomatic mission from 6.Amethyst arrives at [-723|-816] in Azura.

The fortune teller cackles loudly.

"Clay! Clay... I tell you, thrice Clay! Bury the newcomers in Clay!"

She falls silent and speaks nothing further, staring wildly into a clay-filled abyss that only she - and some other poor unfortunates - can see.

Your diplomatic mission is heading home, alternately pondering and dismissing these words of wisdom.

Has anyone received information relating to a specific Player like the one below?

From: System
Subject: FW: Fortune told for your mission from TOWN
Received: 17 Sep 2013 08:14
Original Message:
Your diplomatic mission from TOWN arrives at [-149|-225] in Tor Carrock.

The fortune teller smiles grimly. "So, your troops are looking for a challenge, are they?

The dead speak.

And one of the names on their lips is the army 'BIG ARMY' belonging to
ANOTHER TOWN.

Legendary, they call it. Now begone!

Your diplomatic mission is heading home, alternately pondering and dismissing these words of wisdom.

Yes, Malek.

SC mentioned that the teller will sometimes tell you about one of the 10 largest armies on Elgea. I've seen two such mails about different people thus far.

Ah, I should mention that I used t2 scouts to receive this result. Not sure the quantity of scouts matters.

Perhaps, but I'm not sure one or two towns worth of troops will do much to sway an entire alliance's military strength...

I was looking at all of the Fortune Teller sites reported in this thread, and not a single one of them is normally a Gypsy Campsite or NPC Structure. They also seem to be all over the map. So, Stormcrow, since you were reported as saying on GC on August 30th, 3013, that the Fortune Teller takes over Gypsy Campsites, would you care to clarify if that's actually true? :D

GM SC did say the fortune teller would give certain info if you used the right units at the right time. Finding the FTs is so near impossible that I throw planning out the door every time I see one.

If someone could mange to talk to one of them at 6:00, 12:00, 18:00 and 24:00 game time and report back if they received new clues that would help immensely.

There are rumors of a few players with new clues, but they are just rumors at the moment.

Posted By: Buridan
Date Posted: 23 Nov 2013 at 23:03
Would be almost impossible to visit them at 6:00 or earlier.  Finding them isn't easy and with travel times it would exclude most players.  Unlike the devs (Tongue) I actually sleep from time to time.  I've managed to catch the fortune teller at the end of the day a couple of times but have only received the messages that have been posted here already.

I think by "right time", he might have meant that the player meets certain preconditions. However, I wasn't there for GM SC's hint.

Has anyone ever solved this one yet?

The gypsy fortune-teller tells your Thieves: "Beware what lurks beneath the desert sands, for though there is treasure there it is also well guarded."

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

Well since i believe in spreading knowledge and im quite sure more than a few have gotten this result

Sending 20 t2 Spies to the fortune teller resulted in this message(all crafting tech is done btw):

Original Message:
Your diplomatic mission from ------

The fortune teller's eyes go wide.

"I see you...

And I see your exceedingly skilled crafters.

Wait a moment."

She pauses in meditation, for what seems like hours, before suddenly jerking her head up and looking directly into your spies' eyes.

"You seek to learn the mystery of Master-Crafted Chainmail.

The next time I am with your kith, I will ask.

It will, however, cost you. Be prepared. I will be in touch."

Your diplomatic mission is heading home, alternately pondering and dismissing these words of wisdom.

I got impatient after the first time and then sent the same amount of t2 Spies, since she didnt contact me or whatever, and then this happened:

Original Message:
Your gatekeepers report that a wizened old woman arrived earlier in the day at -----------------].

She did not enter the city but instead pressed a note into the hands of the gate officer, saying "Give this to your master. He is expecting it."

She left immediately without further word; shuffling off down the road with surprising speed.

The note reads:

"I have spoken with those whom I mentioned; those who guard the secret ways of Duraz Karag.

They may be willing to share their secret, if you prove yourself worthy.

If you still seek this knowledge then there are three tasks you must complete to prove your worth.

Firstly, you must prove your ability to collect unusual materials.

Procure the following items in the following quantities:
[@c=255] x5 (Corrupted Human Tentacle)
[@c=256] x5 (Corrupted Elf Tentacle)
[@c=257] x5 (Corrupted Dwarf Tentacle)
[@c=258] x5 (Corrupted Orc Tentacle)

When you have at least these quantities of these items in your town's inventory, send a messenger [@i=5|97] from ----------------- to the great hall of Duraz Karag at [@l=-203|-122|18].

Do not fail in this, for your reputation is at risk."

There is no signature on the note.

And thats what i know, not sure if i left anything out, but meh, thank me for spreading knowledge instead of hoarding it Smile

Yes sorry it was spies!

I don't understand. You say you sent 20 t2 scouts, yet the message you get tells the woman is looking directly in your spies eyes.

Many thanks Goddestroyer for sharing this.

Without being a fortuneteller, I daresay a rush to HoC within the next month.

Maybe all wars will end because of lack of soldiers still walking around without loosing vital parts (or tentacles...). Tongue

And that was only the first task???

Ok, someone sell me all the ingredients and i'll 'loan' them out to trustworthy players at a nominal price. Wink

Auraya, is there a reason why you just wouldn't use huge piles of t1 scouts? They only cost a horse, build quickly, and offer a fairly high "attack" value. As I understood it, the "attack" value is what makes Audrey grow.

There's an argument about whether it's attack or exp. Either way, whilst t1 scouts are the cheapest, they are not the fastest to produce. If you're less concerned about cost and simply want to get the discovery quickly, thieves would probably be much faster.. but some players, like myself, might be re-adjusting a few cities for winter food shortage and have troops to spare. I'm probably going to send ~50k sentinels and 20k thieves at Audrey in the next day or two.

What discovery exactly is this unlocking?
The champion armor (combined with FT tips?)
How does Audrey spits tentacles?
You just send scouts/troops/whatever... and how exactly can u obtain tentacles?

There is a detailed explanation in other threads. Basically if you feed her enough, the heart beats. If you send units to the three altars while she beats, your units become fungus zombies that attack the sending city. The zombies sometimes drop tentacles.

Your diplomatic mission from ... arrives at [-234|18] in Meilla.

The fortune teller shoos you away with her hands. "Stop pestering us", she says. "We have nothing more to say to you today."

Your mission is heading home, suitably admonished.

I sent 20 T2 spies. All my crafting is done in that town and i'm not sure if I ever tried talking with the FT from that same town.

Hmm. I sent 20 t2 spies from a town with all crafting complete, and I got the usual answer about spies being used more in the future.

Did you have a Plate Armourer building built in the town, Epi?

Might also just be a matter of chance...

I sent 20 from a town that had completed all research and only got the standard message, that spies will have more use in future.

Fortune Tellers

http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/World/Map/363/-514" rel="nofollow - http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/World/Map/363/-514

For those wondering how I locate the Fortune Teller:
I use a script to inspect incoming map data for the Fortune Teller. With that passive logger, I pan across the map in two windows starting at -975|25 & -975|-25 start moving to the right until I reach the end of the map, increment up/down by 50 (2 up/down arrow key presses when zoomed all the way out  with prestige account), pan to the left, repeat. This process usually takes somewhere between 30-60 minutes depending on where the fortune tellers are located that day.
TLDR : A script that follows http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/rules-regarding-third-party-tools_topic756_post5531.html#5531" rel="nofollow - Illyriad Third Party Rules and about 30-60 minutes of "ArrowKey, ArrowKey, Alt+Tab"

I'm giving it another shot, same city with all crafting research complete, this time with 150 t2 spies.
