QUEST CONTENT RELEASE
We
were always a bit annoyed by the fact that our trade quests were almost
entirely generic to every race whereas quests should really have
variants depending on each player's race.
For example a quest such as "Find the Librarian's Child", should be in 4 flavours:
- Human version: "Find the Librarian's Child"
- Elf version: "Find the Librarian's Child and Castigate her for not looking after the sacred books"
- Dwarf version: "Find the Librarian's Child and send her down the mines, where little dwarves should really be"
- Orc version: "Find the Librarian's Child. And eat her."
Whilst we haven't done these racial variants for the Diplomatic Quests (but we will!), we have done it for the Trade Quests.
We've
expanded the number of Trade Quests currently available from 33 total
quests to 121 quests. These 121 quests are split by race, giving
roughly the same number for each race.
These quests are now all
race-specific, and - once you have completed your existing quest
assignments, you should start receiving the new content. We've also
changed the rewards for each quest, and some quests have different
requirements and rewards when they're run - so with these quests you're
not guaranteed the reward you got last time (from the same quest).
The
content team are full steam ahead on new quest types, from Military
quests to Faction quests - and we think this semi-neglected content area
is entering a true renaissance.
We hope you all agree!
Regards,
SC

Sounds interesting. I might run a few quests over the next several days just to taste the new treats.
Thanks,

Shouldn't it be and send them to bed without supper in the human version?

It seems the Elves have updated level 2 diplomatic quests now, the Orcs don't though, from what I can see.
I thought this update was only for level 1 quests? Or are the level 2 ones following through with an immediate rewrite aswell?

Morkar sends no word in response to your generosity, but you are sure that you have won favour in the eyes of the Always-Chiefs.
|
You send out food, and get NOTHING in return. Don't do that quest.
I did it again, must have been my eight time doing that quest when i get this message

Morkar says nothing of the gift of food you send, but he arrives
in town saying that the Always-Chiefs have shown him visions, which he
would share with your scholars.
He sits for a while with your wisest Orcs, and they are impressed by the wisdoms which the gods have shared with him.

I think that means you get a mana boost and a research boost as the rewards for those 2 quests respecitively. I can see the research boost being useful for a new player where lack of RPs can be a problem.

My alt has done that quest a couple of times. As I stated in GC if it doesn't give the exact amount of reward in the complete message it seems to vary each time. It does give a reward but it varies. If you want to know what it gives note down your res values before it completes so you can see what you get.

My quests are now spaced part, the trade contacts quests, would have the two trade quests close together, but now they are slightly spaced apart, as are the diplomatic quests.
Does anyone else notice this?

I just completed it too.
Thank the Always-Chiefs (or SC) I got that extra 100 mana, I was almost at less than 10 million mana in my reserve there.

I have to say some of the quest rewards do seem woefully inadequate. 50 stone for 50 gold? the beer to accept the quest is worth far more than 50 gold.

You're going to be disappointed. The Librarians Child quest gives you books, and the Who cares where all the children are quest gives you swords.
I wonder what popular childrens story the later was based on!

Well I don't think it was based on Snow White and the 7 vertically challenged people!

The main point here is that Stormcrow lied about being able to eat children on these quests, my stomach is in a uproar!

"Find the Librarian's Child" is a level 2, diplomatic quest Kur... hope that answers your question. Be patient, there will be children to eat aplenty soon enough! ;)
