Do you ever wish that you could see all the alliances of illyriad at once without having to look at the out-of-game statistics? Well, you can:
go to "alliance", click "find"  the url for this page is:  http://uk1.illyriad.co.uk/view_alliance_find.asp?pagesize=20 - http://uk1.illyriad.co.uk/view_alliance_find.asp?pagesize=20

take out the "20" at the end and enter "1000", and refresh the page.  It will show you http://uk1.illyriad.co.uk/view_alliance_find.asp?pagesize=1000 - this .

Good job random you have clicked on find alliance and replaced the # 20 with 1000 in the URL!

you could just use 340 instead or 350 or any number above 340, but hey it don't really matter.

It is better to have more alliances on the Diplomacy page in my opinion

http://uk1.illyriad.co.uk/view_alliance_diplomacy.asp?pagesize=340

What would be really nice is if someone made a chart to show how the alliances were diplomatically connected. That would really help.

My old friend Pasi does this sort of thing...you can really end up with a spider-web chart.  Lot's of conflicts sitting out there to create trouble some time in the future.

Is there a minimum requirement of cities or something for joining alliances?

i have only just started this game and not sure about everything yet :)

You need to have a consulate built and then have the reseach Negotiation researched. then you can join an alliance.

I did this a while ago, forgot about it, and rediscovered it when I was sorting my desktop.  It shows the relationships between the top 10 alliances.  Some of it may be wrong, tell me if you see a mistake.

So no one could attack no one really?

It's just a game. :)

They could, it's just people would have to decide which to side with, so some Diplomatic actions would be broken.

The Confed lines are pretty sparse, and they are all that really matter.  Remember, NAP means Non-Aggression Pact.  Someone attacking your NAP-mate isn't really anything with which you need concern yourself, at least pedantically speaking.

Everyone seems to interpret the meaning of their connections differently.

Perhaps when making the next one use different types of lines? Like dotted or jagged lines for the Confeds and a straight line for the NAP. Dunno if that would work, but it could help looking at it.

I would like to see you use yarn.  Different colors of yarn.  Some strands could be extra fuzzy to give those lines the, well, fuzzy look.  And if there is absolutely no relations whatsoever between any alliances, use white yarn so it won't show and confuse us.

The diagram itself reveals what happens when a situation reaches a status quo. I think that is where we are now in Illyriad.

Most participants in Global chat these days are satisfied to remain within their comfort zones and get fatter and fatter. Tbh ( although their leaders will deny it) the major alliances are becoming complacent and directionless)

It like my old mate Niccolo used to say to me

"Braggy me old mate" he used to say "What we need is more War! War! and less Jaw! Jaw!"

Cor. He was dead brainy our Niccolo. Always had a quote for every situation. Wouldn't surprise me if somebody borrows that one someday. Probably Dodgy 'Arry or someone like him
