I just managed to get in.

I had to completely clear my browser download history, cache, cookies, active logins, offline data and site preferences.

Having done that in the first browser (Firefox Developer Edition in my case) I was able to use other browsers without a problem as well.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update on today's outage.

It was the web-serving front-end that went down, not the database tier - so all timed ingame events etc would have completed as expected whilst front-end access was down.

The outage started at 10:09 and ended when we got our ISP to reboot the web-front-end system, which completed at 12:28; for some reason our automated alert system did not trigger (and we're investigating why this didn't work as expected as well).

We know that the box had power for the duration - but was not available for network access - and we're running through the log files to see if we can find anything at the OS end, plus we are liaising with our ISP to see if it's anything that might have happened in the datacenter.  (It wouldn't be the first time a data center engineer has unplugged the wrong cable!)

Thanks for bearing with us while we continue to investigate this.

Best wishes, and happy Independence Day to all you Yanks!

SC
