With Factions becoming a bigger deal with the new updates coming, could you expand the options on the strategic map, like the ability to have the regions for the factions be highlighted selectively, like alliances. for example, if i was trying to have a small alliance of all elves be in the region of the Illians, with multiple cities, I'd propose to be able to put on the strategic map the list of the alliance cities like you can already, with the faction cities highlighted like you can already, but add a second drop down menu that highlights selected factions regions. That way the alliance could find a faction that i like and place the alliance cities close to them while they would have the ability to make sure they stayed out of the faction region that they wanted to avoid. For example, if the alliance had multiple races the elves could settle in the illian area while if they had orc members they might want to be outside the area due to them being -45 in standings. so being able to highlight faction regions could help people find places to settle or avoid without accidentally settling in the wrong place or the edge of a place.

I second this idea. Although Ten's Faction Ranges page is great, and the new changes made it even better, I do think the range info could and should be incorporated into the strategic map. Include the option to show by race, and also by choosing specific factions. It would be horrible if ALL of the ranges were shown at the same time with no options to filter. Right now, you can't look at the strategic map and see if your town or future town spot is in within a faction's range or not, in relation to your own town or the current location, if selected. Also cannot see if a player's town is within the range of a hostile faction, for lots of reasons. Sieging an inactive in hostile territory could get an army killed. Holding sieges and blockades get wiped out all the time, and this info would be very useful for players. |
