Trying to find an alliance is easy finding that right one for you is not. They will tell to follow global chat and find the people you like. The problem with that is you don't get a good feel for there alliance by the few you see in [g.c] . The best players of most groups go no were near global chat or you may see them in[ g.c] very little if at all. Which leaves new players with going through the alliance's pages.[ go through them and look]. It may take a long time to find the right one that fits you or you may never find the right one . Some players seem to go through one after the other. This is a team game and we all need help. You can stand on your own as long as you can support yourself and if they allow you to. Some likes crowds makes them feel safe some don't it's your call and your choice . It's a thin line with all the rules and police that control the game. Looking for an alliance good luck with that one there's a lot to choose from. Roll the dice and pick one if you don't like it quit and choose another. Only thing about that is some will get there feelings hurt and get mad and threaten you when you leave.
Bottom line there all different with different players and rules . good luck.

You're right to warn about the troublesome GC and etc., st aug. It's another good reason to choose a training alliance first. It'll give you time to look and should open you up to the sorts of networking possibilities that will lead you to find players you'll be able to call friends and if you're lucky, maybe even family.
