comes from gotic "hausjan" and goes to nordic "heyra" (from wiki)
in german it's "hören", and in upper palatinate bavarian still "heyern"

Hmm... didn't know up to now, that Suaheli is Proto-germanic Wink, and I really find that topic interesting Geek
