Have the gods forsaken us?
For many years little Binkies have lived in their settlements on the elgean continent. They've lived in peace and war, but always in harmony with the gods of their earth. The little Binky that was most divine of all, the Binkypriest, talked to gods, asking for advice or praying for help. The response he got from the gods brought the little Binkies a prosperous live and their settlements grew slowly as their power expanded. The relation between te Binkypriest and the gods became even better and with the help of the gods little Binkies explored the continent. They traveled to the Lan Larosh dessert to fight in epic battles and learned the secrets of hiding and sneaking. They found new wealth in stealing and grew out to become legendary diplomats. The little binky assassins were small enough to sneak into towns, kill every commander in town and get out without being noticed by the towns inhabitants.
During those days not a single Binky forgot they had to thank the gods for their welfare, for it were the gods who tought them how to sneak and through the binkypriest they told the binkydiplomats where to strike.
But then one day, more then a year ago now, the priest told the Binkyassassins to go to the plains, where a giant enemy force had gathered for war against a friend f the binkies. It was a noble mission to come to help a friend in need. But when the binky assassins arrived, they found it was not possible to get close enough to he commanders to kill them and they had to return home disapointed. The big Binky got furious at them and send them out to offer them to the heart of corruption. The binkypriest lost authoroty as he was the one who told the binkyassassins where to go. He was granted a second chance when another friend was in need for help. But again, the mission that was sent to a myriad of orcs in a Mal Motshian forrest returned home disapointed. The priest fell out of favour and when he said the gods had promised him new lands to explore in the near future all binkies were sceptical about his words. Until rumours from other settlements reached the binkylands. Other priests had heard the same stories from the gods about new lands, somewhere beyond the great ocean. Hope revived in the hearts of the little binkies, but alas, the date that was prophesied by the priest to be the day of new explorations passed by and nothing had happened.
The little binkies lost their faith and blamed the Binkypriest. He was driven through the streets naked with an angry mob of binkies following him. He escaped from the town, but the binkies were so furious, they hunted him throughout the lands until the priest reached the end of the continent. On a high cliff he watched over the ocean, asking why the gods had forsaken him. The other binkies were ready to lynch him, but as they were closing in on the priest he jumped of the cliff into the eternal waters. They saw hem swim to the south, until he was out of sight.
Good riddance, they thought. There is no such thing as gods and we should have realized long before. No gods and no lands beyond the ocean. And killing commanders outside a town? That had to be impossible as well. Still, there were some binkies, some of the elder, who actually witnessed the glory days of the binkypriest, that kept a little voice in their head saying: one day the gods will return and they will grant new lands to the ones who kept faith, and maybe, if the gods are as generous as in the old days, binkies will kill commanders outside towns.
