   King Sigurd urged calm during his exceptional public address today, after it was confirmed by the Council of Illyria that the entire continent's population suffered a blackout during the late hours of the evening. We are receiving reports from all classes, that people found themselves lying on the floor without reasonable explanation, and in many instances they also reported a minor injury from a fall.
  The King expressed relief that the incident occurred at a time when people were retiring to sleep, rather than in the middle of the day when they might have been performing dangerous tasks. Only four fatalities have been reported so far from the Middle Kingdom, with unconfirmed reports suggesting they all resulted from carting incidents caused by traders losing control of their horses.

 Concern has been expressed that a magical force might be at work, similar to the undead uprising of last month, and quiet rumours are circulating that the Circle of Five are again engaging in activities beyond their understanding. The King also used his address to reassure his people that military and diplomatic security will not be affected by any future incidents, and that all Colleges of Magic were engaged in active defensive research.

  The economic impact has not yet been formally assessed, with the Council dismissing claims that vital communications might have been lost, and time-sensitive transactions could have been delayed.
