Thank you for the input, it is good to get feedback from the community to see what is working and see where we can make improvements.
When viewing these, keep in mind this is a minuscule sampling of the overall body of work. I just so happened to pick a few pieces that show only human characters and features; the reality of the situation is that most of the work is very generalized as you suggested, focusing more on the hands and tools needed to effectively portray the idea...both of which can apply to any race (though greenskins might get a wee sore about seeing filthy human/elf/dwarf hands all the time).
Some ideas, however, require a face to portray the emotion or I am trying to communicate. Making a single graphic display an elaborate idea -- having to tell a small story in just one panel -- is sometimes difficult to do when just using a single simple object. To avoid being too "humanist" (in the fantasy sense) I will be representing all of Illyriad's fine playable races. As much as i'd like to make each graphic race specific, my already monstrous workload would nearly quadruple, and there are many more projects for me to work on than just research graphics (more to come on this at a later date, or as the illustrious Stormcrow would say: soon™).
Again, thank you for your feedback, I hope this answers some of your worry.
