Sindicate v. Assorted Elgea based Alliances

As of 26 of November this is a rough estimate of the positioning of cities/forces from both sides, with SIN/300/TA2IN/LOKI being green, and AESIR/BANE/ECROW/EE/HELL/MCROW/STORM/SV/TEA/TROUT/UNBOW/VALOR/WOT being red. Does not include possible sympathizers such as IRON/TCOL .etc

Cool, losses were probably due to the recent Unbow campaign in the southwest. Would be interesting to see the change in attack and defense stats of the alliances, but no doubt those would be inflated due to NPC and faction attacks.

A slightly different view - Sin and confeds (red); Aesir and confeds (green). Not all (on either side) are involved but at least this can be objectively replicated. Taken fron today's town file so still includes some Ta2in towns razed earlier today.

Aesir should win decisively, then. Wars in Illyriad are purely a function of population. That's because population is a good proxy for army size. We all know that the biggest armies win Illyriad wars. Peripheral factors like determination, martial prowess, organization, camaraderie, ferocity are really just myths. MMO urban legends foisted by delusional bloggers on a gullible muggle community. Right?

I mean really, can anyone name an Illyriad war in which a much smaller alliance with significantly fewer troops defeated a much larger alliance with bigger armies?

I'm not quite ready to accept your surrender yet, Ten. You need to discount the totals for inactives which your people believe are nearly all of us and allow for gold farms outside the alliances and the importation of prestige from the real world for sale. There are also gold farms hidden in each others alliances - so the sindicate may well be fuelled by quiet membership in our allies alliances. We're looking for them but witch-hunting does not sit well on the goodie's shoulders. However I do agree that genuine popultion is a very good proxy for army size and this war is on a big enough scale for analysts to work out who has gold hidden where.

Hucbold, you can continue to bet on gold, permasats, population, roster bulk. I will continue to place my bet on determination, martial prowess, organization, camaraderie, ferocity. Maps and charts don't faze me. It is always my assumption that my opponents have an infinite gold treasury and infinite supplies. Wealth didn't save SHARK, VIC, Unbow in Newlands. Wealth didn't save vCrow in Farshards. Wealth didn't save EE in Gremont. Wealth will not save you now.
