For the record , vCrow has twice moved a city right next to a tourney tile. Not the sort of activity you would expect from the "number 1" ranked alliance in the game.
One can only assume that they feel they cannot win without such underhanded tactics. Unlike the past, we will not allow it to happen. Collectively, the BL alliances will self enforce activities in which we deem to be against the spirit of fair play. Any cities exodused (or teleported/settled) near tourney tiles in BL will be removed by means of siege without hesitation. Stukahh

What i see after my return is that Illyriad maybe has lost principles of behavior in the people's greed to win with any way a Tournament done for all the players. Too much advertising and promotion in Steam and for what ? just for nothing when old alliances can't play fair a Tournament. They have a good point as the "rules" do not settle the borders of a fair play and neither the Dev's seems to care about the fair play. Do not ask after a period why people left the game nop don't do it.
Well done lets all hail those with no moral standards.

Oh how quickly they forget. DD was in the vcrow war pretty much to the bitter end, including coordinating ops with you guys in NC... |

Bring out the BAT. Whats this "We are now a peaceful alliance?". I say raze any cities that happen to be near the square. Whether they exodused there or not.

If it weren't a strategic advantage, you wouldn't be complaining about it.
As you are well aware, the only disapproval that really counts is the kind that arrives with 90 catapults, 60 rams and a million kobolds. People aren't going to stop exploiting a powerful tactic because they get verbally scolded on the forums. |

It bothers me but Harmless is now a peaceful alliance and we do not attack players. As for this being a strategic advantage, I disagree. As a veteran of this game for 7 years I can attest that squares can be one long distance, of course, it takes organization, coordination with timing and experience. Many top alliances, including Harmless have won squares not in their backyard and have never moved a city next to a square. Difference in play, perhaps, but it does not mean I have to approve of it.

Starry, if it aggrieves you deeply, burn it down. There was a time when Harmless? wasn't afraid to dispatch catapults to deal with problems. As I have already stated in my Warmongering article about Camping the Square, I think advancing cities is a valid metagame tactic. Military responses against the weaponized city are also a valid tactic. It's an army, not a city, and you can destroy it with the same impunity as destroying armies on the tournament squares themselves.
However, I would also point out that projecting force is entirely valid. Without such tools, the tournament squares will heavily favor the locals. Where is the virtue in that? To me, it seems more valid to favor the alliances who are risking cities on the squares. That is especially true with this avalanche of plains squares, where it's going to be 99% cavalry clearing and 1% little token armies to score points. The only way to ensure stable point scoring is to sit right near the square. |

Well so much for players not gaming the tourney. It appears that Kabluntu (Skb) has already placed a city next to the Lan Larosh square. I have no respect for any alliance that feels the need to move a city next to a square. I had hoped this tourney would be different. :(
