Why is my research taking 3 times longer than is posted...example...ranged weapons is listed as taking 2 hours mine is taking 7 ?

	Because you have another research in front lasting 5 hours, so that one has to be done first before ranged weapons starts, so 5 hours for the first research, then then two hours for ranged weapons = 7 hours till its done. Edited by Orin - 28 May 2015 at 20:12

	If you were to be sabotaged, you'd get a mail informing you -- this mail will also tell you how much the increase in time is. Usually the reason your research is taking longer than you thought is not enemy action, but as described above, the need to complete prior research first.
