I know it's not the largest population possible, but there is a city at 33,535 population.
Can you work out what buildings are in that? (no diplo cheating!)

Ok, so i went around to toy with cities configs a little bit.. An imaginary city, using all maxed buildings, all big pop buildings (expect warehouse, cause u need the stored res to build things), would have 38419 pop. Here it is..
Common Ground
Paddock
Cavalry Parade Ground
Cavalry Parade Ground
Cavalry Parade Ground
Cavalry Parade Ground
Chain Armourer
Kiln
Chain Armourer
Blacksmith
Book Binder
Carpentry
Consulate
Bowyer
Horse Trainer
Mage Tower
Siege Workshop
Spearmaker
Saddlemaker
Tannery
Warehouse
Horse Trainer
Skinner's Guild
Foundry
Forge

To get closer to your number, we need to demo something.. By demo'ing 3 buildings and deleving, per example, the horse trainer to lvl 19, u would get 33540 pop...

Why Would u want  a   big pop city like that? 18-21k pop city  can get better taxes  because can go higher  with taxes  without worrying about negative food

I built a couple of extra trade offices to get my 10th and demolished them after I'd settled *shrugs*
