Now that crafting is live. We could perhaps equip caravans with better horses.Thumbs Up

Some might choose better speed, some might choose better capacity or perhaps even new heavy burden work horse could be invented especially for caravans...

Great idea! No reason not to. 

The faster vans are explained away by better equipment from the appropriate technology. Foot soldiers get horses, cavalry have several choices and even siege equipment can upgrade now. Let's have an option to swap horses on vans. Draught Horses for bigger loads or Riding Horses for faster travel times. I wouldn't even mind seeing the option to equip war horses to aid in blockade breaking, but that may be a touch too much.

True, but that doubles (+100%) speed for each click. The horse gives +25%. Maybe they won't but we can ask.
