To help players decide on which alliances best fit their game goals, and since
the Find
Alliance summaries sometimes don't contain the information newbies are
most
concerned with, all LEADERS of alliances are welcome and encouraged to
post the
answers to the following questions in this thread. You do not have to
completely
answer all of the questions, but the more you answer, the
better. Also, please be sure to edit your post to keep the information
up-to-date or delete your post if the alliance becomes inactive.

Alliance Name: Invictus [VIC] Yes, players can leave the alliance. But as with every action, there are
always ramifications. The alliance would want to enter into discussions
with anyone who wanted to leave the alliance.
3. It is not permitted to attack an active player using combat or diplomacy units without prior notification with the alliance and its leadership.
4. Thieves, saboteurs, and assassins will not be used against other
active players except in time of war or with the permission of the
leadership. Diplomats can be used against inactive players who have no
alliance affiliation. It is important for any player
doing this to ensure that the person they are attacking is inactive. Alliance Name: Victrix [VICX] We are the sister alliance of VIC. No race, population, or location restrictions. All honest, hard working players are welcome.
We especially appreciate mature players who like teamwork and who dislike vulgarity. To give you a better idea of what we're like, if your reaction to having your caravans bumped is "oh, well" to "I'll bump him back" (versus "how dare he! I'll teach him!") or to getting thieved is "hmm, a slight set-back, but it's just a game" (versus "I'm going to thief that bastard until he knows to never touch me again!"), then you're very welcome in VICX. VICX is a peaceful alliance, and we try to solve any disputes through discussion rather than force. It's not so much that VICX is against aggressive action as that we're looking for players who want to use the "hostile" game aspects in ways that are fun for everyone involved (against inactive players, consenting players, or factions) rather than for the purpose of making others fear them or to get their own way. Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? If you can be kicked out of the alliance, what would cause that action to be taken against you? Players can leave the alliance, but we expect most players to remain with us in VICX or VIC. We have kicked players out that disobeyed our rules and refused to change the problem behavior. We also will remove players who have been inactive for more than 30 days without first informing VICX leadership of their intent to come back. They may be removed to make room for new, active players in the alliance.
Our rules are similar to VIC's rules (see above). You can see a full list on Victrix's public forum on the game, and the rules are sent to each player to agree to before they join.

Greetings!
Alliance Name(s): Free Defense Union [FDU], Illy Training Ground [ITG], Shrap's Mem. Academy [SMA]. Recruitment Contact: FDU - Lianosk, Leungarific ITG - Thanatia, Marquesta SMA - The Mariner, Danathan Are you currently accepting new members? FDU & ITG - Not actively, but we do have a small shortlist on a first-come, first-serve basis for FDU and ITG, due to both alliances being full/almost full. SMA - Accepting all new members! Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? Anyone and everyone, preferably those players who are new to Illyriad, and have two or less cities! What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? The FDU, ITG and SMA are alliances of mutual trade and defense. We welcome new players who want to start playing the game without being bullied by the more established players. We also offer aid and guidance on how to play the game. New players can feel free to use this alliance as a stepping stone to move to other alliances that may more closely match their playing style, once they are able to support themselves. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? The Free Defense Union is the brainchild of Shrapnel, a dwarf of some renown amongst most of the older Illyriad Players. He created FDU to help new players learn the game. Now, FDU, ITG and SMA are continuing his legacy, helping new players understand Illyria better, and prosper in her lands. Our goal in FDU and her sisters, as stated above, is to help new players gain knowledge and understanding about the game's mechanics, as well as the manner in which the community and environment functions. We support our players intellectually, as well as materially, and help them to fit into alliances that they may want to get into, further down the road. What type of player are you looking for as members? Players seeking to grow and learn about Illyriad are welcome amongst our ranks! Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? Players are not only free to leave our alliances, but also encouraged to, once they are of a suitable size or mindset. We certainly wouldn't want you to leave if you are still in the process of needing more resources than you can pay for, as we provide them to you free of charge. Once however, your need for urgent resources tapers off, we will be glad to help you shift to another alliance, as well as send you resources whenever you request them. What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? Our main concerns are inactivity, and the attacking of affiliated/unaffiliated players. We do not shelter aggressors, nor do we keep inactive players in our alliances. Players of any size who are inactive for a month, are removed from the alliances. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? We certainly do not expect our members to spy upon, thieve from or attack another player, other than launch attacks at a town that has been proved as abandoned or inactive by a senior member of one of our alliances. If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? We do not have a tax system, but do have occasional payouts, especially if one of our traders make a killing in the market (money-wise). This usually results in all of our members receiving a gold windfall, equal across the board. We would strongly urge all of you to send us your new players! We are available to help them grow, then return them to you as more upstanding members of Illyriad. Cheers, Leungarific Alliance Trainer FDU Edited by Leungarific - 07 Sep 2011 at 05:08 |

Alliance Name(s): Persona Armoniosa,Macto Armoniosa Recruitment Contact: PA=Lorre or any ambaxtoi MA=Rainstorm,Bronwyn Are you currently accepting new members? It depends really MA is activly recruiting, PA however only recruits in special cases for example players that attract the attention of either me or one of the Ambaxtoi. Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? anyone and from anywhere of any level What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? we protect, educate and supply our members as good as we can, we cant promise to make you the perfect player or anything. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? to be perfectly honest? it just stands for standing there not like being the shining light or anything. the goals of MA are to be a selsuffecient alliance closely related to PA and sometimes if the members are willing to transfer to PA. the goals of PA are to be there when needed and to act when the time is there to act. the governing principles in both alliances are my word and that of the councill is law.the hierarchy is to be respected, in times of war aswell as peace. this does not apply to chats amongst eachother and probably only can be understood when actually being a member of either the alliances. What type of player are you looking for as members? friendly, loyal, ready to help, not following blindly but having a voice of there own. Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? leaving is always free to every member, we do not force anyone to relocate to one of our hubs just incase they would want to leave. the only thing that we ask is that you let us know a day or so beforehand that you are leaving. What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? unautorised use of military forces, magic, saboteurs and assasins against other players. inactivety causing unrest in the alliance. repeatedly insulting other players.(example on global chat) What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? well i guess its obvious now npcs can be attacked, factions that the approval has been given on can be attacked, players can be attacked in times of war. thieves can only be sent out to inactives. otherwise diplomats should stay at home. If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? no taxation exists in the alliance donations to the alliance chest are voluntarely. Edited by GM Luna - 29 Feb 2012 at 16:57 |

Alliance Name(s):
Aesir [Sir], Pathway to Aesir Recruitment Contact: Aesir- G0DsDestroyer, Yggdrassil Pathway to Aesir- George4Victory Are you currently accepting new members? Aesir- Yes, prefer larger players (3 towns+) Pathway to Aesir- Yes, Smaller/New players Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? Anyone can join either alliance, but if you are a newer/ smaller player, we would prefer if you'd join PATH before you join Aesir. What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? We will protect our members as long as they act within reason, and help them grow larger so that they may help others as well. If you ever need any resource, I am willing to give it to you(as long as i can afford to give you the amount you desire), or sell it to you if you want to buy it. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? Are goals are to keep all of our members alive and able to support themselves. What type of player are you looking for as members? Any type of player, we'll deal with you if you become a problem Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? Any of our members can leave our alliance at any time, unless they want to quit and kill us off one by one, but if they are, how would we know?. What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? You will be removed from the alliance for being inactive for 30 days or more unless you have contacted the leaders and told us of your absence. The other cases are if you cause us too much trouble and your only goal is to do just that. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? We have no rules, except don't kill active members(or get caught doing it), have fun, and be active, and of course cactus. No one in our alliance is allowed to act hostile towards other active players, but it happens, and when it does we will diplomatically deal with it and if that fails, we have other things we can do to teach our members to be good. If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? Alliance Tax money is used to fund our alliance leaders so that they are able to support the newer players in time of need. And keep us leaders rich of course! Cheers G0DsDestroyer Edited by GM Luna - 29 Feb 2012 at 16:58 |

Affirmative Action is not a signup for freebies. We act as one. An attack against the smallest town is the same as an attack against the largest. We only run out of resources when all towns are out of resources. We all have our part to play in the alliance. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? Affirmative Action was formed in the fallout of the Havoc/Knights Templar war. Our first goal is to right the wrongs performed during that war. Players are free to leave, but none have chosen to do so. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? A.A. chooses it's targets, and attack. There is no reason a single ally would attack another player without the full might of Affirmative Action behind them. If a player has an opponent in mind, they only need to bring the subject up with the Hand of the King, or the King Himself. Edited by GM Luna - 29 Feb 2012 at 16:58 |

Alliance Name:
Harmless Recruitment Contact: Llyorn of Jaensch Are you currently accepting new members? Limited, but yes. Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? Must have 3 cities, be regularly active, and a vocal participant in alliance affairs. Applicants will be evaluated based on their apparent maturity and character, as well as any trustworthy record of past conduct. Secondary accounts are not accepted unless accompanied by the primary. What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? Hands-on military training, firm protection against unprovoked hostilities, reasonable freedom to personally pursue honorable agendas What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? Harmless stands for maturity, decency, and excellence in combat and conduct. We believe in diplomacy before action, but do not take action timidly or promise to escalate conflicts "slowly." What type of player are you looking for as members? Respectful but opinionated, mature (generally but not necessarily older) players who will show dedication, character, and talent for team play and coordination in combat. Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? Players may leave freely at will, either permanently or temporarily. Leaving itself bears no consequence. Players may be removed or refused re-entry for inactivity, repeated violation of our code of (in-game) conduct, leaking intelligence deemed sensitive to non-Confederated parties, or similar strong offenses against our sense of character. Players who temporarily leave are not required to follow alliance rules while away, but may be refused re-entry if their conduct outside the alliance was considered grossly improper according to our normal guidelines for accepting new recruits. Players are initially accepted as Initiates, who will receive ongoing training and guidance until deemed ready for full membership. Initiates have limited access and responsibilities (are not entrusted with sensitive alliance affairs, and are last to join conflicts). Initiates who, for prolonged periods, fail to meet our standards of military capability and coordination skill or to demonstrate primary focus on active, vocal participation in Harmless may be discreetly encouraged to find a new home, or be eventually removed from the alliance. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? The attacking of NAPs and Confeds is prohibited of course, but all other matters are dictated by principles and our code of conduct rather than hard rules. Procedures are in place for optionally seeking approval for operations prior to conducting them, which in turn protect members from being ordered to pay restitution or make other penance for actions performed prior to receiving desist orders. If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? Alliance taxes are used to aid in the funding of any alliance-wide operations (full-scale war). |

Alliance Name: The Colony
Recruitment Contact: Kale Weathers Are you currently accepting new members? Yes, please! Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? There are no restrictions on established members (those who have already moved/have multiple cities. We would prefer that new members be willing to teleport into our area. But hey, it's all negotiable. What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? Candy corn. Loads of it. Also, of course, protection, a good training program, absurdly happy people, and candy corn. The candy corn is a lie. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? The Colony stands for pride in the alliance, working together to achieve tasks, and generic feel-good principles that alcohol prohibits me from typing out... Oh, and we really value communication. Especially with semaphore flags. What type of player are you looking for as members? We prefer the living. Also members who are able to help one another, either with resources, or training. Members who take the game only slightly less seriously than I do would be quite nice. No lemurs. Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? Players may leave if they wish, but should at least have the courtesy of sending me an email. Sometimes, issues can be resolved through communication. Removal due to thirty days of inactivity is par for the course. I, personally, would remove with prejudice any dishonest players. Trust is a big thing. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? Players may attack NPCs, those we are at war with (following established strategies), and inactives WITH prior notification. If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? New oriental rugs, cookies, and marketable slogans. Also, the money we collect is used for emergencies. Actually, that is all we use it for. Possibly escrow. Alliance Name: Muppets On Tour [~MOT~]
Recruitment Contact:Phoenix_470 Are you currently accepting new members? Yes, all are welcome :D Who can join (any restrictions to race, location, population level, etc.)? None at all......As said before all are welcome :) What are some benefits of joining your alliance (protection, training, etc)? You will get protection like everyone else and Myself and the leadership of MOT will give you training so you are good to go. What does the alliance stand for? What are it's goals and governing principles? Muppets On Tour is a training alliance. We try and take the weak and train them to strong heros of the day. What type of player are you looking for as members? Well anyone....But it is good to talk in Alliance Chat. Can players freely leave the alliance if they wish? If not, what are the consequences of leaving? What would cause the leaders to remove a player from the alliance? Well I dont see any point in yelling at some one who has left your alliance.....It is called moving on. And we all do that at some point.Anyone may leave at any point in time. What rules govern the alliance? For example, diplomats and troops: who can they be used against in a hostile manner (no one, only NPCs or certain factions, only those at war with, only inactives, only with permission, anyone not in the alliance or in NAP with your alliance, etc)? I would like it if you told me of a player that you wish to attack.......And we have the rules on attacking an inactive player in our alliance forums If the alliance has a tax on its members, what is the money used for? Right now the alliance tax is at 0% but if it was ever to move the money would be used for the alliances wishes. We cant wait to meet you all Edited by GM Luna - 29 Feb 2012 at 16:59 |
