Interesting. There's no really concrete tie of "hear" (or "here", as these words only separated post 1180AD) to PIE/Sanskrit; maybe it's a Proto-Germanic thing.

comes from gotic "hausjan" and goes to nordic "heyra" (from wiki) in german it's "hören", and in upper palatinate bavarian still "heyern" Hmm... didn't know up to now, that Suaheli is Proto-germanic , and I really find that topic interesting
