Ah, but the thing about the "effortlessly" epithet is purely perceptional. It looked effortless to all, but we all know how much effort went in SC |

Thanks everyone for this tournament!
It came as a surprise and caught us with our pants down but it was fun and a big thanks to the_dude for the update and stuff, nicely done. If the_dude reveals who he is in-game I will send 1k cows as a token of my appreciation for these updates.

Did you spell it with a space, or an underscore?

Both. But I found out why, I was to fast for ajax to follow. Tried again, and this time I did it very slow so ajax to keep up and I found him.

The_Dude is ethereal.
"The dude abides. I don't know about you, but I take comfort in that. It's good knowin' he's out there, the Dude, takin' her easy for all us sinners."

I was hoping someone else would kick-off the post-tourney discussion.
I learned a lot during the tourney about terrain, races, units, and cmdr bonuses.
Terrain really has an impact. Plains are very difficult to defend. Mountains are much easier to defend.
The wrong units for the terrain involved can really have an impact on the battle results. Those combat messages describing units that benefit and units that suffer should be heeded. For example, on Plains Cavalry is best for both Offense and Defense.
Race unit advantages, e.g., Trueshots, do not overcome the Unit/Terrain interaction. By example, even though Trueshots are the best overall Elf unit, on Plains even Elves will do better using Cavalry units.
Cmdr bonuses: Attack and defense bonuses materially impact battles.
Please share your observations.
